Home Cleanout Dumpster Rental

A garage, basement or attic cleanout usually fits a 10 or 15 yard dumpster. A whole-house or estate cleanout typically needs a 20 or 30. Furniture and boxes are bulky but light, so volume decides the size. We book the dumpster with a local hauler and schedule the pickup when you're done.

Updated 2026-11-05 · Your flat-rate quote includes delivery, pickup and a weight allowance, and it is spelled out before you book. No hidden fees.

Planning your home cleanouts dumpster

Sort before you toss

Set aside items for donation, recycling and hazardous-waste drop-off first. Paint, chemicals, batteries and electronics usually can't go in the dumpster.

Break down bulky items

Taking apart furniture and flattening boxes stretches the space. Load flat, heavy pieces first and fill the gaps with smaller items.

Keep it level

Don't fill above the top edge. Haulers can't legally drive with debris sticking out, and an overfilled container may need to be unloaded before pickup.

Estate and move-out timing

Tell us the deadline, such as a closing date or lease end, and we book the drop-off and pickup around it.

Frequently asked questions

What size dumpster for a house cleanout?

A whole-house cleanout usually takes a 20 yard dumpster; larger homes with full basements or garages may need a 30. A single garage or basement often fits a 10 or 15.

Can I put a mattress or furniture in the dumpster?

Furniture generally can. Mattresses and box springs are accepted by many haulers but some charge a fee or require separate disposal under local rules. Tell us when you book.

What can't go in a cleanout dumpster?

Common exclusions are paint, chemicals, batteries, tires, propane tanks, appliances with refrigerant and electronics in states that ban them from landfills. See our guide to what can go in a dumpster.

Not sure what size you need?

Call us with the project and we'll size it with you, then book it with a local hauler.
